Rivers state command of Nigeria Police Force has recovered one corpse and three skulls of persons who were kidnapped, killed and dumped in a septic tank by a shoe seller in Umuebule community in Etche local government area of Rivers state.

The police say that Ndubuisi Anthony who is in his early 50s was arrested by men of anti -kidnapping unit of the state command, confessed that his victims were all tricked to his house and after demanding ransom, he killed them and dump their remains in a septic tank.

Anthony who hails from Ngo-Okpala local government area of Imo state while identifying three of his victims to be citizens of Togo and Abia state further disclosed that he has made N800,000 from his victims since he started the business of kidnapping.

“I went into this business because of poverty, I will call my victims and tell them I have business for them, so they will come to my house, I will follow back and hold them and keep them, after collecting ransom and I will kill them and dump them inside this suck away”,

“Police was doing Investigation on the matter when they arrested one of my customers, a lady who now called me last Sunday to meet her at Artelary junction, when I got there, police arrested me, that is how I was arrested”.

He also revealed that he went into the kidnapping business because of poverty.

Addressing newsmen, the State Commissioner of Police, Joseph Mukan said investigation is still on to unravel the circumstances and others behind the act.

“Our intelligent team arrested the Ndubuisi Anthony you can see him here, he has confessed all he has done, We are convinced that he is not doing this business alone, Investigation is on, we will know those helping him to achieve all these”.

Some of the residents of the community who spoke to our correspondent complained that lack of police presence and electricity power failure are mostly responsible for some of the crime going on in the area.
