Jos – The newly inaugurated officials of the Plateau Youth Council, PYC have been urged to ensure that youths in the State play a vital role in maintaining peace and unity in the State.

The officials were also tasked to be mindful of their role before and during 2023 elections as “their decisions and participation mean a lot to the development of the state and nation at large.”

It would be recalled that the new officials were inaugurated last week Thursday by the State Governor, Simon Lalong at the Youths Centre, Dadin Kowa, Jos.

Dr Jophia Gupar, a member of the National Advisory Board of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN and the State Coordinator, Women4Women/He4She Community who advised the youths noted that, “he successful conduct of the election and inauguration of the elected officials have given brighter future for the young people on the Plateau.”

Gupar who is also the Founder/President, Pan African Young Women Development Initiative, PAYWODI urged the PYC exco will “assist in bringing back the lost value of the Council,” and commended Governor Simon Lalong and the State Commissioner for Youth and Sport Development, Victor Lapang for supporting the cause of youth participation and development in the state.
