The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Joint Campus Committee in Akwa Ibom State has lauded the Rector of Federal Polytechnic, Ukana, Essien Udim local government area, Dr Uduak Ukekpe over massive education infrastructure in the school.

NANS Joint Campus Committee led by its chairman, Comrade Faith Paulinus passed a vote of confidence on the Rector and management of the Federal Polytechnic, Ukana, after assessing facilities in the school.

Chief Press Secretary to the chairman of NANS Joint Campus Committee, Comrade John Obot, said the students committee took a tour of some newly completed facilities in the Polytechnic and was impressed by milestones achieved by the Ukekpe administration within two years.

Some of the facility inspected by the committee included engineering complexes, workshops and lecture theatres, environmental studies complex, clinic, library, entrepreneurship development centre and administrative block.

The committee said it was ‘impressed with the massive library facility complete with e-learning capabilities in the Polytechnic and numerous other impressive projects initiated and executed within the two years old administration of Dr. Uduak Ukekpe, Rector of the Polytechnic.’

The students body declared that Federal Polytechnic Ukana is in ‘safe and productive’ hands under the current Board and Management.

The tour which was part of activities kick-starting the close-out phase of the Comrade Faith Paulinus led chairmanship of the National Association of Nigerian Students’ -Joint Campus Committee Akwa Ibom Axis aimed to gather first hand information on facilities in tertiary institutions in the state as well as the welfare of students in those institutions.
