Jos – Efforts to fortify the governance framework in Plateau have received a boost as the State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang joins other political leaders for a leadership retreat organized by the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF) in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The aim of the retreat which is taking place in Kigali, Rwanda is to among other things, enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of leadership within Nigeria’s sub-national governments.

A statement by the Governor’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere said the agenda for discussion at the event holds the prospect to add value to governance in the State and beyond.

His words, ‘Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, is among Nigerian Governors participating in an Executive Leadership Retreat organized by the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF) in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The retreat is currently underway in Kigali, Rwanda, with the primary objective of fortifying the governance framework to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of leadership within Nigeria’s sub-national governments.

“Governor Mutfwang, an advocate for value-driven governance in the best interest of Plateau State, is optimistic that the novel leadership approach being discussed during the retreat will catalyze the transformation of the challenges faced by both Plateau State and Nigeria into potential opportunities. The theme of the retreat is “Rethinking Leadership and Leading Systems,” and the retreat encompasses a range of sub-themes, including “Reimagining Nigeria: Exploring the Future of the Nation.”

The moderated dialogue centred around contemporary leadership in an evolving global landscape would also feature at the event.
