More than 20 business associations in Akwa Ibom State have declared support for the presidential ambition of Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, national leader of the All Progressives Congress.
At a press conference in Uyo jointly convened by Tinubu Support Group Akwa Ibom State steering committee and Concerned South-South Forum for Asiwaju 2023, Akwa Ibom State chapter, heads of different business associations in the State said they will support Tinubu’s quest to become Nigeria’s president.
Some of the business associations whose leaders declared support for Tinubu at the press conference included, International farmers and community development association, Akwa Ibom State palm oil association, Utu Abak; fashion designers association, Etinan; Akwa Ibom state barbers association; Bakers association of Nigeria, Uyo chapter; patent medicine dealers association, Etinan chapter, catfish farmers association, Uyo chapter among others.
In separate remarks, leaders of the associations said Tinubu has the experience and capacity to govern Nigeria.
The leader of the Akwa Ibom state steering committee of Tinubu Support Group (TSG), Mr. Ndon Abia, said they are in total support of the decision of Tinubu to run for the office of President of Nigeria.

“We want to use this press conference to State that the Akwa Ibom state steering committee and all affiliate support group of hereby declare unequivocally our support for our leader Senator Bola Tinubu on his intention and declaration to contest for the president of Nigeria in 2023.”
“We are inviting all interested support groups domiciled in Akwa Ibom State canvassing for Bola Ahmed Tinubu to identify with TSG, Akwa Ibom state steering committee which is the umbrella body for Tinubu campaign to ensure proper registration, seamless harmonisation and integration into the TSG and Bola Ahmed Tinubu Support Groups Management Council, BAT SGMC.”
Mr. Abia congratulated Mr. Abdulmumin Jibrin, on his appointment as Director General of Bola Ahmed Tinubu Support Groups Management Council and Otunba Ajiboye as Director of media and publicity of the group and thanked all the associations that have come out to declare support for Tinubu assuring them that Tinubu will not fail Nigerians.
In their presentation, Concerned South-South Forum for Asiwaju 2023, led by Mr. Raphael Udo, state coordinator and Mr. Francis Michael, Secretary, said they support Tinubu because he has a “proven capacity in mentorship, discipleship and human capacity development, and wealth of experience in political governance”.
The group says it is working assiduously to put up structures across the state for Tinubu.
“In demonstration of our commitment and zeal to work for Bola Tinubu 2023 presidency, we have put together a formidable state executive structure, a vibrant senatorial district structure, local government executive, a capable ward structure and polling unit executive in all the 329 wards and 4654 polling units across the state”, the group said.
