The Police in Nasarawa State have announced a 6am-6pm restriction of movement across the State on Saturday 6th October to ensure a hitch-free local government election across Nasarawa State.
No gathering or campaign would be allowed to hold during the restriction, the police say.
“No gathering or campaign of whatever guise will be allowed to hold within the stipulated restriction hours and violators of the said order will be dealt with accordingly to the extant law of the State.”
“Members of the public are hereby called upon to comply with the restriction order as eligible voters are allowed to go out and exercise their franchise without fear of intimidation from any quarter.”
The Commissioner of Police in the State CP Adesina Soyemi has ordered massive deployment of Police personnel to provide security during the local government election in the state.

Police Public Relations Officer in the State, ASP Ramhan Nansel, said the CP has ordered the deployment of Police personnel to all the 147 wards across the 13 local government areas.
ASP Nansel in a press release said the Commissioner of Police has assured residents of the State that the Command is committed to ensuring security of all voters during and after the election.
“Effective security deployment have been made across the State and a Rapid Response Team has been created in all the Local Government areas to promptly respond to distress calls while all Police personnel deployed have been warned to be civil, neutral and professional in carrying out their assigned duties.”

The Police Command called on political parties to caution their supporters to refrain from causing chaos.
