Jos – The proprietor of the newly approved Karl Kumm University, KKU, Church of Christ In Nations, COCIN has disclosed the new institution has so far received over N600m as support for its activities as it is about commencing academic programmes soon.
COCIN President, Rev. Dachollom Datiri made the disclosure on Tuesday in Jos during the Church’s 99th General Church Council, GCC held at COCIN headquarters in Jos.
The cleric, while giving an update on the progress made described the university project as a miracle but urged all stakeholders to brace up financially so as to have a successful takeoff.

According to him, “It is no longer news that our dreams are now reality. Our God is indeed gracious. His manifestation of grace started with the unbelievable support of over N600m from “friends of Karl Kumm University.”
“Then came the federal government pronouncement in February this year and the issuing of Certificate by NUC last month. Last week, the Governing Council was constituted following the appointment of Principal officers.
“At this point, we must therefore breast up financially so as to have a successful takeoff.”
Speaking on the state of the nation, he added, “Boko Haram has not only become an embarrassment to Nigeria, but a very disturbing scenario. It only portrays either a government that is colluding with this terrorist sect, or one that is confused or a failed government.
“Government must rise up to her responsibility and quickly so, or Nigeria will soon be overrun by this terrorist group.”

The cleric lamented the rising inflation in the country and called for an urgent review of the economic policy to give families reprieve.
However, the State Governor, Simon Lalong, represented by his Deputy, Professor Sonni Tyoden congratulated the Church for the approval gotten to commence the KKU and urged for prayers and partnership for government to overcome the myriads of challenges saying, “you can see the suffering in the land, you can see the trauma that Nigerians are going through….”
