Unknown gunmen on Monday night attacked some students of the Plateau State University (PLASU) Bokkos while carrying out their departmental assignment within the school premises.

The students of Theatre Arts department were said to be doing their production assignment in the night when the attackers stormed the school premises, shooting sporadically to scare people.

They reportedly made away with the students’ laptops, and other valuables while some yet to be ascertained number of female students were raped in the process.

A student who spoke on the condition of anonymity said the incident was unfortunate, adding that they were no longer feeling safe within the school premises at night.

She called on the school authorities to boost security around the school premises at night, adding that the management should also take the affected victims for check up and other forms of rehabilitation.

When contacted, the school’s Public Relations Officer, John Agam, said he is waiting for briefing from the school security outfit before commenting.
