The Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi Sule has submitted the names of Hon Ayuba Wandai and Ishaq Mohammed to Nasarawa State House of Assembly for confirmation as the Chairman and member of the Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission (NASIEC) respectively.
Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, the Speaker of the House on Monday in Lafia announced the governor’s nomination after Hon Tanko Tunga, the majority leader read the governor’s letter during the House proceedings.
The speaker directed the nominees to submit twenty five copies of their Curriculum Vitae (CV) to the House on or before Tuesday, August 25, 2020.

“The nominees are directed to submit their CV to the House on or before tomorrow and appear for their screening and possible confirmation on Wednesday, August 26.
“The clerk is hereby directed to communicate the nominees appropriately, ” the speaker said.
Earlier, Hon Tanko Tunga, the Majority Leader of the House while reading the governor’s letter said ” Pursuant to the Provision of Section 192(1)-5, 193(1)-(2) and 194 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended)
“And the powers conferred on me as the Governor, to appoint Chairman and members of the Nasarawa State Independent Electoral(NASIEC), I Engr. Abdullahi A.Sule , Governor of Nasarawa State,do hereby forward the under-listed nominees for confirmation.”

Ayuba Wandai Usman, who was nominated as Chairman is from Nasarawa Local Government Area while Ishaq Mohammed Baba who was nominated as member hails from Keffi Local Government Area of the state.
