The patron of PDP People’s Mandate in Akwa Ibom State, Prince Mendy Archibong, has said that Governor Udom Emmanuel, has made tremendous impacts in the diversification of the State’s economy through his industrialisation agenda.
Archibong, who is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Goodtime Group of Companies said Governor Emmanuel has shown proficiency in management of the economy by growing investments in areas where the State has comparatively high advantage.
Speaking to journalists at the Victor International Airport, Uyo, on his arrival from the Abuja for the inauguration of the National and Zonal Executives of the PDP People’s Mandate which took place at Chida Hotel, Jabi FCT Abuja, on Saturday 27th November, Archibong said the Governor Emmanuel’s has succeeded to diversify the economy of Akwa Ibom State within six years despite straitened global economy.
“Our dear Governor has shown proficiency in the management of the economy. His industrialisation agenda and the huge investments his administration has made in the real sector has helped to diversify the economy of the State.

“Today, Akwa Ibom people have ample opportunity to jobs openings outside the civil service. Governor Emmanuel had caused a job boom in the aviation sector courtesy of Ibom Air. There are jobs in pharmaceutical manufacturing through Jubilee syringe. An entirely new economy has emerged. The number of start-ups in Akwa Ibom speaks volume about the enormous economic turnaround the Udom Emmanuel has brought despite the economic recession of 2016 and the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020.”
Archibong posited that Governor Emmanuel has performed creditably well in the health, education, power, agriculture, security and infrastructure.
“Beyond diversification of the economy, we have seen the overhaul of infrastructure and facilities across health institutions across the State.
This is another big plus for the Emmanuel administration.”
He applauded Governor Emmanuel for working tirelessly towards the realisation of the Ibom deep seaport project.
Archibong equally commended the wife of the Govenor, Dr. Martha Udom Emmanuel, for her housing programme and empowerment of widows and the less privileged through her pet project, FEYReP.

The industrialist said his foundation, Prince Archibong Life Foundation was inspired by the tremendous, live-saving interventions done by FEYReP.
Archibong appealed to Akwa Ibom people to support the succession programme of Governor Udom Emmanuel and the quest by his party, the PDP, to return to power at the center in 2023.
“It is obvious that my Governor is doing well, so also are other PDP Governors. My appeal to Akwa Ibom people and Nigerians is that they should support the PDP. When the PDP returns to power, the nation will stand a chance to wriggle itself out of the hardship it has been led into”, Archibong added.
