The Federal Government has implemented Value Chain Development Programme (VCDP) in Nasarawa State, in collaboration with International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) to source more funds for the reconstruction of Agricultural processing centres in the state.

The Head, Market Enterprise Development Unit of VCDP, Hajiya Fatima Sani Buhari, revealed this during
3 -day assessment visit in Nasarawa State to ascertain the level of implementation of the programme in the state.

Hajiya Sani expressed her satisfactions on the level of success of the programme while inspecting market stores, solar-powered borehole and rice processing centres in Doma local government of Nasarawa state.

She said that the Federal Government is setting out modalities to redevelope some major Agricultural processing centres in the state.

Fatmay added that, “We are here to verify the level of implementation of the support mission for our beneficiaries”

“Our visit is to inspect the project work that we have done and how they are being maintained”.

“We are encouraged by assessment, I commend the beneficiaries for doing well in the maintenance and we might possibly come again to redevelope some of the processing centres”. She said.

Also speaking, Dr Eunice Adigizi, the State Programme Coordinator, said the project was targeted at improving the standard of living of small-scale farmers in the state
