Speaking about the level of compliance in the sanitation exercise, he said that the level of compliance for this month is impressive compared to the previous months.
“There are compliances more than what we saw in the past. The sanitation is not all about stopping vehicles on the road and forcing them to wait till the time elapse. It is about cleaning the environment. We have made progress in ensuring that all the business premises, the motor parks, residential areas are clean and we have also ensured that enlightenment continues across the state to educate our people more on the importance of cleaning their environments”, he said.
He expressed gratitude to Governor Abdullahi Sule and President Muhammadu Buhari for their support to the Ministry in actualizing the mandate given to him and his team.
Meanwhile, the Chief Prosecuting Officer, Mobile Court in the state, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammed told journalists that 32 people were arrested and prosecuted for violating the sanitation laws while 27 vehicles and tricycles were also impounded.
“Their offenses ranges from violating the sanitation regulations and we gave a good notice before the sanitation day but these set of persons did not comply.
We assigned about 86 Environmental Health Officers to go house to house to carryout evaluation in order to know if the residents are cleaning their environments which was how we were able arrest these defaulters”, he said.
