Jos – As Christians in Nigeria join their counterparts to celebrate Easter, the Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang has called for prayers for the State saying the time is now to leverage our diversity in Christ to build a peaceful, united, and prosperous Plateau for all.

Mutfwang in a statement by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere extended his Easter wishes to Christians in Plateau and across the globe and urged them to “embrace the essence of love, sacrifice, and peace as embodied in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.”

The Governor emphasized that “Easter provides an invaluable opportunity to contemplate God’s plan for humanity’s salvation, fully realised through Christ’s resurrection,” and commended Christians who observed Lent, believing that the lessons learnt have deepened their spiritual connection.

He stated, “I urge us to live out our faith in God and our interactions with fellow citizens, not letting Easter pass as a mere ritual. Let it serve as a reminder of God’s boundless love, demonstrated through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ. With God’s help, we will overcome the challenges facing our State. Let us prioritise peace and collaborate to address our shared concerns. The time is now to set aside our differences and leverage our diversity in Christ to build a peaceful, united, and prosperous Plateau for all.”

He prayed for the resurrection’s transformative power to shine in Plateau and beyond.
