The Delta State Government has announced the commencement of the 2020/2021 cycle of Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Programme, STEP, for youths in the State.
The Ministry of Information Delta State in an announcement on Friday said youths interested in acquiring vocational skills should get application forms for the training at their local government councils.
The Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Programme, STEP, coordinated by the Job and Wealth Creation Bureau covers nine broad skills areas and is free for youths of Delta state.

The training will cover, catering and confectionary, fashion design and tailoring, tiling and interlocking, PoP, painting and screed-making, electrical and solar works, hairdressing and braiding, welding and fabrication, and audio-visual services, according to announcement by the Ministry of Information signed by Theresa Adiabua Oliko, Director of Information.

The announcement says the form is free and interested applicants should collect, complete and submit application forms to the local government council headquarters office nearest to their places of residence (see the Pointer Newspaper of Friday February 19, 2021, for approved venues in the 25 LGAs).
Applicants are to go along with national identity card, permanent voter card, driver’s license or international passport for identification.

The announcement says previous and current beneficiaries of State Government’s job creation and youth empowerment programmes including STEP, YAGEP, RYSA, GEST and WESAP should not apply.
