Jos – A suspected case of anthrax has been discovered at the main abattoir, in Jos, Plateau State, the State Chief Veterinary Officer, Dr. Spak Shase-et confirmed.
This is not the first suspected case as residents are urged to be cautious in the purchase of uncertified cow meat.

Dr. Shase-et confirmed to this medium on the phone that the latest suspected case was identified as antemortem during the routine check when the cow was brought in on Friday morning.
He said, “The animal displayed all clinical signs of the disease, samples from the suspect animal have been taken to NVRI, Vom for laboratory confirmation.”
