The Chairman of Ughelli North local government area, Mr. Godwin Adode, Monday morning announced a total lockdown of all markets and warned against hike in prices of food stuff.
The chairman made this announcement at the council secretariat while addressing market women and traders on the important of food during this stay- at- home period to avoid further spread of the Coronavirus ravaging entire world.

Adode said, “there will be different food stuff centre within Ughelli metropolis and it’s environs to meet the immediate needs of the people at all times.
“”There will be food centres such as, Ekiugbo primary school, Ogele primary school, Oharisi Primary School, Otovwodo Primary School and Afiesere primary school.
“Market woman or traders who want to take advantage of the stay – at – home order to increase the price of food stuff will face the wrought of the law.
“Residents should maintain and obey the stay at home order.
“We commended the State Governor, for taking a proactive and preventive measures in curtailing the deadly disease that have ravaged the entire world.
“We are appealing for calm among residents of Ughelli north local government area.

“It is only through collective efforts that the fight against the Coronavirus will be achieved.
“Taskforce comprises of Military, Police band other security agents has been put in place to ensure total compliance of the oder and advised the market women and traders to adhere strictly to this order by selling at the normal price of food stuff to avoid any form of arrest or embarrassment”.
