The coming on board of the present Administration has significantly degraded the activities of the Boko Haram insurgency, kidnapping, banditry, farmer/herder clashes among other sundry crises. However, it is pertinent to note that, in spite of this effort, we are witnessing the resurgence of criminal elements which necessitated the need to re-strategize towards combating the security challenges bedeviling our society.
“It is my belief and conviction that the establishment of this college will serve as avenue for prospective participants to exchange ideas and share experience on modern trends of combating insecurity in the country. The college will also provide the needed platform for the appraisal of the security situation of the country and proffer workable solutions that will assist in entrenching a high-tech security system that will promote sustainable peace, stability and harmonious co-existence for socio-economic development of our country”, he said.

“The increasingly complex threats that the Police, as the primary internal security agency are grappling with had
necessitated the need to establish new Mobile Police Squadrons and expand the capacity of the Counterterrorism Unit and the Police Special Forces to deal with the threats. This initiative has
widened the training requirements of the Nigeria Police.”
“With the commissioning of this facility, the Nigeria Police now has three Mobile Police Training institutions. The first is in Gwoza, Maiduguri and the second one is in Illa-Orogun, Osun State. The three institutions shall be optimally utilised to expose officers to be drawn from the Mobile Police Force, Counterterrorism Unit, Special Protection Unit, and the Nigeria Police Special Forces to modern tools for dissecting complex security threats and acquiring the strategic and tactical capacity towards planning and undertaking special operations within international best policing standards to mitigate the threats. I am to add that plans are underway to
establish the fourth Police Mobile Training School in Sokoto to further strengthen our operational capacity development plans.”
