Chief James Augoye.

TeamAugoyeDelta (TAD), has urged Deltans and supporters of Chief James Augoye for governorship in 2023 to remain committed in their resolve and support.

The group says Chief Augoye’s governorship ambition is still on course.

The State Coordinator of TAD, Mr. Walter Augoye made this known while addressing newsmen in Asaba, the State capital, on the hills of the purported screening out of Chief Augoye from the race by a group.

Mr. Augoye urged all Deltans to disregard the report, stressing that the responses that trailed the three-man shortlist is indicative that the committee’s report is not credible.

“The responses that trailed the outcome of the DC-23, a socio-political pressure group domiciled in the Delta Central Senatorial District, to say the least, is not surprising to us.

“We have been undaunted with calls from across the country and from the diaspora. Some of the callers were quite furious, while some others demonstrated a strong sense of disgust for the outcome of the screening exercise, as if it was a case of stolen mandate.

“We, however, want to assure our members and teeming supporters that our principal in the person of Chief James Augoye is still very much in the race and remains the leading contender for the Delta State 2023 governorship election.

“It is quite interesting to witness such a huge number of persons expressing their concern, disbelief, as well as disgust at the exercise. To say the least, we were never taken aback by such a large number of persons calling, and writing on social media as well, as we are quite aware of the vast love Deltans have for Chief James Augoye, and his immense popularity amongst the people”.

While expressing thanks to everyone who has shown support for Chief Augoye, Dcn. Augoye said: “We want to enjoin everyone to be calm and stick to our pursuit for the new Delta come 2023.

“We are quite assured that Chief James Augoye, having worked assiduously with His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, to take the Smart Agenda in Delta State to enviable heights it has attained today, knows what to do as well as how to build on the success of Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.

“We enjoin you to continue the drive to reach more and more party faithfuls as we painstakingly explain the manifesto of Chief James Augoye. Chief Augoye has already addressed the press and urged us all to remain loyal to the ideals and leadership of our great party, the PDP, as it is the party faithfuls and not any pressure group that will determine the candidate who will be the flag bearer of the party for the 2023 gubernatorial election.

“We understand the intrigues at play, but it only evokes laughter from us, as we know that power belongs to God and not any cabal whatsoever. We remain undeterred, and we have been strengthened the more as we have come to realise that there is a very high level of fear for the person of Chief Augoye, and his political aspirations, seemingly due to his immense popularity among Deltans”.
