Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State laying wreath at tomb of unknown soldier to mark 2021 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

As Nigerians across the country mark the Armed Forces Remembrance Day in honour of fallen heros, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has called on Nigerians to live in peace and harmony with one another to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
The Governor made the call on Friday in Lafia during the 2021 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration held at the Government House.
“The nation is in need of peace. We should pray for peace for our nation and pray for President Muhammadu Buhari, all our Governors, Legislators and Judiciary officers so that Nigeria can continue to make progress”.

The Governor while performing the laying of wreath, prayed for the fallen heroes to continue to rest in peace.
In her remarks, Halima Jabiru, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, said that the Armed Forces Remembrance Day is a day set aside to honour the fallen heroes who laid down their lives for the survival and unity of Nigeria.
“It is a long-week of activities, since last Friday we started the launching of emblem where N5 million was donated to the Legion. Churches and Mosques also held prayers for our fallen heros.
“The Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development has been supporting the families of the fallen heroes in the area of skills acquisition and provision of grant to the family members,” she said.

Sgt. Hamidu Almajiri, Chairman of Nigerian Legion, Nasarawa State Chapter said he was overwhelmed to be part of the celebration while expressing gratitude to the Nasarawa state government for the many support given to members of the armed forces in the state.
