Stalwart of All Progressives Congress and former member of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Obong Kufreabasi Etuk, has called members of the APC in Uyo senatorial district to give their full support to Senator Godswill Akpabio, President of the Senate.
Obong Etuk appealed to leaders and members of the APC in the senatorial district to be united towards the goal of rebuilding public confidence in the APC and its leadership by giving absolute loyalty to the leader of the Party, Senator Godswill Akpabio to ensure that the State can be linked politically with the government at the centre.
The former lawmaker who made the call at his Uyo residence on Thursday 2nd November during his 50th birthday celebration, said he is optimistic that APC will regain her lost glory in Akwa Ibom State with the Senate President leading the Party at the State.
Etuk said Senator Akpabio has the capacity, antecedents of sterling performance, contact and very large support base to help the party in the State improve its performance.
“I have been a faithful and loyal Party man, all of you are aware of that. You are also aware that different people have led this Party at different times, but we have seen the significant difference in the Party under the leadership of Senator Godswill Akpabio. There is unity, there is direction, there are appointments, there is revival, there is rebirth. More will come.

“I am appealing to the leadership, members and supporters of APC in Uyo senatorial district to give unalloyed support to the Senate President. Let us follow him with all sincerity, honesty and loyalty required. Our unity and support will strengthen our leader to do more for us.
“Senator Akpabio is a good leader, he has sufficient capacity, Goodwill and benevolence to lead the Party to where it should be. I have absolute confidence in him. If you love me, if you love APC, please support Senator Godswill Akpabio”, he said.
The lawmaker thanked the Senate President for using his good offices to facilitate the appointment of members of the Party in the State to federal positions, a gesture he said will energize and reposition the Party.
He urged members of the Party to reject and stand against devious sentiments seeking to divide the State and its institutions along ethnic lines.
Etuk thanked his friends, supporters and different strata of leadership of the APC for celebrating him at 50, saying that as a boy who lost both parents at teenhood, the golden age was a milestone.
The birthday bash was attended by cross section first class leaders of APC, forum of 2023 House of Assembly candidates forum of ward chairmen, chapter secretaries and chairmen of the Party from Uyo senatorial district, friends and supporters of the former lawmaker.
