As the National Convention of the ruling, All Progressives Congress (APC), gathers momentum, Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule and other APC stakeholders in the state have endorsed the aspiration of the immediate past Governor of the State, Senator Tanko Al-Makura, for the party’s national chairmanship position.
Governor Abdullahi Sule, who spoke during the endorsement ceremony said for now, the former Governor of Nasarawa State was the only candidate who has indicated to contest the position of national chairman of the party.
He also gave assurances that if Senator Al-Makura eventually becomes the national chairman of the party, he will uphold the APC constitution, respect the party’s organs, and consolidate on the wins so far made by the party.
Governor Sule said that Senator Al-Makura stands tall in the race based on his experience, capability, integrity, and wide support he has among all interests in the party and above all being the only person Nasarawa State knows.

Senator Al-Makura is currently the senator representing Nasarawa south senatorial district.
At the occasion, Mr. John Mamman, Nasarawa State chairman of APC said if Al-Makura is elected will work towards ensuring that APC becomes a model in political party administration in Nigeria and beyond.
Speaking on behalf of National Assembly members, Mr. Godiya Akwashiki, senator representing Nasarawa North extolled the political and administrative records of Senator Al-Makura assuring that he is the only candidate to take the party to the next level.
