Obong Udo Ekpenyong, Akwa Ibom State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party is dead.
He died in the early hours of Tuesday, 19th January 2021 due to complications traceable to Coronavirus, a statement by the Publicity Secretary of the Party, Borono Bassey, states.

Obong Udo Ekpenyong was elected in July 2020 as the 6th State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Akwa Ibom.

He was the immediate past Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Akwa Ibom State and a former member of the National Executive Committee of the PDP.
Obong Udo Ekpenyong was also a former Political Adviser to Governor Victor Attah as well as a one time Chairman of Ukanafun Local Government Area.
Publicity Secretary of the party said the PDP has been thrown into unimaginable grief by the news of his passing.
