Akwa Ibom North-East Consultative Forum, a political elite group of the Peoples Democratic Party in Uyo senatorial district, has laid foundation for the construction of its permanent secretariat.
The secretariat which will house a meeting and conference hall, ICT centre, skill acquisition hall, cafeteria and studio is located behind the Ibom tropicana entertainment centre, Uyo,
The foundation stone was laid on Tuesday 13th June, by the Governor, Pastor Umo Eno represented by Secretary to the State Government Mr Enobong Uwah, and was witnessed by Board of Trustees and member of the group including elected and appointed political office holders of the PDP stock from the senatorial district.
Governor Eno lauded the forum for pioneering the initiative among other such groups, implored all members of the forum to have leave an imprints on the project through their contributions, promised to support the project.

He again thanked the forum for their support during the elections and applauded them for their solidarity with his administration within his first year in office, solicited their continued support and cooperation.
The Governor said he is poised to work for the well-being of everyone in the State.
Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Forum, Senator Effiong Bob, said the secretariat will be a meeting and knowledge centre.
He hinted that the facility when completed will be “utilised to disseminate knowledge and also impact younger generation”, saying the project will be completed in record time under his leadership.
Senator Bob congratulated the Governor for his “spectacular performance” in office evidenced in “the successes achieved in one year spanning across all facets of development, namely infrastructure provision and maintenance, entrepreneurial and human capital development”.
He said the forum will work to ensure that Eno has two terms tenure as Governor.
Chairmen on the occasion, Mr Kufreabasi Edidem, Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly and Elder Ubong Obot, Chief Executive Officer, Ubotex Limited, lauded leadership of the forum for initiating the project, called on members of the forum to donate generously towards it.
Elder Obot announced ₦20million donation towards the project.
