A 67 year old stroke patient has been killed by suspected ritualists in Orhoakpor Community in Ethiope-East Local Government Area of Delta State, at a traditional doctor’s house where he was receiving treatment.
The deceased, simply identified as “Papa” was said to have been killed on Sunday August 2, 2020, morning in the compound of a trado-medical doctor were he was rushed to for treatments.
This reporter gathered that the throat of the deceased was slit off his body and had several machete wounds on his chest.

According to a source; “Papa was rushed to the trado-medical doctor who had been administering treatment on him in his apartment. The deceased relatives rented another apartment for him in the same compound with the trado-medical doctor based on the fact that his (trado-medical doctor)room was too compacted.”
“Not long after the apartment was rented for the deceased, suspected ritualists visited unknown to anyone, and slit his throat and machete him to death.”
The incident attracted indigenes and other residents of the community who promptly reported the matter to the Orhoakpor community vigilante who reported same to the Police at Isiokolo police division.
The police visited the community and took away the corpse. No arrest has yet been made in connection to the murder.

The Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Hafiz Inuwa, has confirmed the incident on telephone to our correspondent.
Inuwa said the man may have been killed by ritualists.
“So, there is suspicion that it is a ritual killing. The case is under investigation.”
