Jos – Plateau State government had handed over commuters rescued in recent attack in Jos to Ondo State government.

Majority of the commuters are traders from Ondo state.

Speaking at the brief event, leader of the Fulani in the South West, Alhaji Kabiru Mohammed, said that they have forgiven those who attacked the people.

He promised that there will be no reprisals as they were happy to see their brothers back in their midst, stressing that Nigeria is greater than any individual or interest groups.

The Emir of Wase in Plateau State, HRH Muhammad Sambo Haruna, who accompanied the State Deputy Governor, Professor Sonni Tyoden to Ondo State for the handing over event advised victims of the incident and their families to see the whole act as destiny from Allah.

He prayed for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives and prayed God to grant quick healing to the injured.

It would be recalled that the Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong on Friday sent a delegation led by his Deputy, Professor Tyoden to Ondo State to formally hand over survivors of the attack in Rukuba road Jos and convey condolences of the government and people of Plateau state to their families.

The Deputy Governor was accompanied by Emir of Wase HRH Mohammed Haruna; Yoruba Community Leader, Plateau State, Chief Jide Olagbemiro; State Chairman of MACBAN, Nura Mohammad; Alhaji Sani Mudi from JNI; and Professor John Wade, the Director General, Research & Documentation, Government House, among others.

He said Governor Lalong has been distressed by the development which is an attempt to jeopardize the hard-earned peace that has been substantially restored in the last six years since his coming office.

The Director of Press and Public Affairs to Ondo State Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Makut Macham, said the government of Ondo state would open communication with Plateau state government to get detailed briefing on the incident.

Ondo State Governor had went to the cattle market to sympathise with the leadership of the Fulani community over the attack and praised Plateau state government for her quick intervention, Macham said.
