Jos – Reactions have continued to trail the attack on commuters along Rukuba road area of Jos North local government area of Plateau State which resulted in the death of over 20 people and some others injured.
A former member who represented the Jos North/Bassa federal constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Shehu Hassan, who joined in condemning the ugly incident, noted, it is capable of worsening the volatile security situation in not just in Plateau State but in Nigeria.
Hassan, who represented the constituency in the 5th Assembly but now Adviser on Sustainable Development Goals to the Speaker, House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, urged security and nonconventional security agencies to do their best to apprehend the perpetrators of the dastardly act and bring them to justice to serve as deterrent to others with a plan to carry out such act in the future.

He equally called on the people of Jos north/Bassa Federal constituency to continue to live in peace and harmony with one another and allow for development to thrive even as he pleaded with “rumor peddlers and youths posting ugly images or writing inciting statements on the social media” to desist as that is capable of “igniting tension.”
He further pleaded with the people of constituency to embrace people as they were known for over the years and to equally “stay at home to respect the constituted authority, pending the lifting of the curfew.”
He assured the people that, the state government under “the leadership of His Excellency, Barrister Simon Lalong is not leaving any stone unturned as he is doing everything humanly possible to restore law and order as well as punish offenders.”
The former lawmaker, while praying for the souls of those that were killed and sympathized with their families, admonished residents to “bear in mind that, nobody would be spared if the state and nation is plunged into anarchy, chaos or lawlessness.”
