As part of efforts to tackle the spread the novel coronavirus, the Nasarawa state government has said that 61,000 doses of vaccine will be administered to frontline health workers and other residents of the state.
Deputy Governor of the state and Chairman of the Taskforce on COVID-19, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe made this known while speaking with Journalists on Tuesday after inspecting the first phase of vaccines at the Lafia central store which arrived in the early hours of today.
He said that health workers in the state have already started taking vaccination and assured the state government will ensure adequate supply of the Oxford Aztrazeneca vaccines across the 13 Local Government Areas of the state for onward vaccination.
He thanked President Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential taskforce on COVID-19 and the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency for the efforts put in to ensure that Nasarawa state receive the vaccines as promised by the federal government.

The Dune gathered that Governor Abdullahi Sule and his deputy, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe alongside other top government functionaries will be taking their first dose of the Oxford Astrazeneca vaccine tomorrow, 10th March, 2021.
