In an era when many politicians are seeking political offices to plunder every available money, Honourable Mohammed Sani Otto, the Executive Chairman of Nasarawa local government area of Nasarawa state is righting the wrongs he inherited with very little resources at his disposal.
In 2018, when he declared his intention to run for the chairmanship position of his local government area, many people were particularly concerned about his youthfulness. This was so because they were skeptical of what they called ‘youth inexperience’ especially because running a local government the size of Nasarawa is a herculean task.
Nevertheless, his antecedents as a youth whose uncommon passion for greater Nasarawa local government area remained unparallel, provided the basis upon which his people rallied and voted unanimously for him to take over the mantle of leadership.
As expected, Hon. Mohammed Sani Otto, the Dan-Amanan Nasarawa already had a blueprint which captured Security, Agriculture, Education, Healthcare, Rural/Urban Development, Job creation and many more.
Within his first three months in office, his insatiable quest for a clean and healthy environment as well as secured Nasarawa Local Government Area became manifest. His administration showed key interest in the evaluation of Refuse Dumps, giving regular attention to Drainages and other relevant areas.

There is no gainsaying the fact that Hon. Mohammed Sani Otto has since then shown great commitment to governance by ensuring the presence of an uncommon leadership that is purpose-driven, innovative, selfless and progressive in his Local Government Area.
The Servant Leader since assumption of office has been able to embark on numerous projects for his people in order to lift them from the shackles of poverty and ensure that the dividends of democracy get to their door steps. Some of these projects include;

Renovation of Nasarawa local government council Secretariat: It is the belief of Hon. Mohammed Sani Otto that environment affects performance. So, as a way to enhance performance of Nasarawa Local Government Council Staffers, he awarded contract for the renovation of Nasarawa Local Government Council Secretariat. The renovation work includes but not limited to Offices of the Executive Chairman, his Deputy, Council Secretary, Chief of Staff, Local Government Council Staff offices, Executive Chamber, etc. Each with flourishing water system and standard equipments.

More so, well equipped Toliet Facilities were also constructed for public convinience in the Secretariat and were supervised by the Waste Management Bureau. The Council Secretariat, inside out, now wearing a new look is not only conducive for work but is a model for other Local Government Areas in the State and even beyond.
Empowerment: The Sani Otto led administration’s commitment towards empowering Women, Youths and Physically challenged is unrivaled. He made it a point of duty to, at intervals, empower women and a host of other residents in the Local Government Area with cash and other essential items so that they too may contribute meaningfully to the Local, State and National Economy.

Health and Hygiene: Going by the saying; health is wealth, Hon. Mohammed Sani Otto proposed and enforced regular sanitation of drainages in and around Nasarawa Central Market, Nasarawa Central Motor Park, Nasarawa Abatoir and other key areas across the Local Government Area. His uncompromising resolve for healthy Nasarawa Local Government Area led to his strict enforcement of the monthly sanitation exercise where, on many occasions, he personally mornitor the exercise. He has also supported free medical outreach by the Nasarawa State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule. His collaboration with the State Government free medical outreach on eyes related ailments and provision of food supplements to new born babies and nursing mothers are one too many.
Security: For the love of his people, Hon. Sani Otto has had sleepless moments for many months bearing in mind the horrifying security condition of Nasarawa Local Government Area. Furthermore, he has severally was helped out by joining hands with relevant stakeholders including the Traditional Council, Religious Bodies and Security Agencies to fight crime. This has resulted in the reconciliation of Herders and Agatu Community and subsequent return of Agatu people who sought to resettle elsewhere, to their homes. The crisis in question, would have consumed lives including those of men of the Special Anti Robbery Squad, food produce and other valuable items.

Roads Construction: Considering the pivotal role good road network plays in easing transportation of people, goods and services and the economy, Hon. Mohammed Sani Otto’s led administration successfully constructed; Angwan Mairake – Mangoro Goma Road, Angwan Malam – Angwan Dutse Road and the grading of Onda – Nasarawa Road.

Solar Power Street Light: In a bid to light up strategic areas both in Urban and Rural Areas of the Local Government, the Honourable Chairman provided two thousand metres Solar Power Street Lights at Nasarawa, Onda and Loko.
Citizens of the area for sure, have cause to be happy for their wise decision of entrusting their mandate to a young, visionary, disciplined, and patriotic leader whose stewardship thus far has transformed the Local Government into its present state of development has become the gauge for performance for Local Government Administration now and in many years to come.
As Nasarawa state prepares to conduct another Local Government Election across the state this year, Honourable Mohammed Sani Otto, a great leader who has been up and doing in a bid to ensure that the people of his LGA enjoy the dividends of democracy has indicated interest to run for the office as Chairman for the second time in order for him to continue with his giant strides.
With all he has done and still doing for the people of Nasarawa Local Government Area, It will only be wise for them to give him every necessary support to ensure he is re-elected into office so that he can continue with these laudable projects for the betterment of the people.
