Men of the Nigeria Police attached to the Delta State Police Command in collaboration with vigilante group have killed four fleeing armed robbers in Oviorie community in Ethiope East local government, Delta state.
The armed robbers were killed last weekend after robbing residents of Oviorie.
The gunmen were said to have engaged the police team drafted to the community in a gun duel which lasted more 30 minutes.
“The policemen and the vigilante were able to overpower the armed robbers leading to the death of four members of the gang. Other four members escaped”, a source in the community said.

Two locally-made guns and tricycle used by the armed robbers during the operation were recovered by the police.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed the incident on Monday, saying, “the late armed robbers were operating at Oviorie and Ovu communities when they were killed. The police are on the trail of the other fleeing suspects.”
