The families of policemen and soldiers killed in the #endSARS protest in Rivers state will receive N20million each.
Rivers state governor, Mr Nyesom Wike announced the compensation package on Wednesday in Port Harcourt, saying that the support is to ameliorate the hardship the affected families will face due to the demise of their breadwinners.
In Lagos state, Governor Mr Babajide Sanwo – Olu said the state government will fund the burial of all officers killed in the protest, give support to the family and scholarship to their children.

He said the Lagos state government will
foot medical bills of police officers injured in the protest and remodel all police stations that were razed.
Sanwo-Olu who spoke at the police command at Ikeja urged the Nigeria Police Force to improve police – citizens’ relationship, while striving to ensure that their uniform represents dignity, pride, honour and discipline.

Meanwhile, Governor Nyesom Wike has called on security agencies in Rivers state to fish out those who perpetrated violence in the state under the guise of endSARS protesters.
During a condolence visit to the Inspector General of Police, Wike again alleged that the violence in Rivers state was caused by members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
He said members of IPOB must be prepared to leave Rivers state.

Responding on behalf of IGP, Mohammed Adamu, the Commissioner of Police in Rivers state, CP Joseph Mukan, thanked Governor Wike for his show of love and empathy to the families of the deceased officers.
Mukan noted that the money given to the widows will go a long way in assisting them train the children the officers left behind.
The CP also assured the Governor that the command under his watch will leave no stone unturned until the killers of the officers are arrested, saying that security has been beefed up in Oyigbo local government area and other communities to guard against further breakdown of law and order.
He lauded the Governor for promising to rebuild all police stations affected in attack.
Present during the visit were four widows of officers killed during the protest.
