The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC on Wednesday said that any voter who does not wear nose mask would not be allowed to vote at polling units in the forthcoming election in Ondo state.

This requirement is part of measures adopted to curtail the spread of COVID-19 during and after the October 10 election in the state.

INEC’s National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Mr Festus Okoye, disclosed this in Akure at a workshop organised for journalists in Ondo state.

Okoye said INEC is working with the presidential task force on COVID-19 to provide infrared thermometers in all polling units during the election.

He restated that the use of nose masks branded with insignia of politics parties should not be used during the election.

Okoye said 17,000 ad hoc staff will be deployed for the governorship election in Ondo state, urged journalists to uphold professionalism in the discharge of their duties during the election.

  1. Why are we not being sincere in this country? Do they use facemask in political rally? What where the Covid19 guidelines with regards to political rally? We are just being careless.
