The Coalition Against COVID-19 CA- COVID, has donated assorted food items worth millions of naira to the Nasarawa state government to distribute to residents across the 13 local government areas of the state in a bid to cushion the effects of the pandemic.
The donation of the food items which took place at the Central Store UAC road on Tuesday in Lafia, had in attendance top government functionaries, traditional rulers and residents of the area who were seen jubilating.

Presenting the items, representative of the CA-COVID, Gidado Jamilu explained that the group was prompted to donate the food items because they know that the people are passing through a lot of difficulties due to the effects of the pandemic.
Governor Abdullahi Sule who was very delighted with the donation of the food items, flag-off the distribution of the items.
The governor expressed gratitude to CA -COVID while promising to ensure that the palliatives is distributed to the poorest households across the 13 local government areas of the state which comprises of 1,495 polling units in the state.

He urged the state Committee on COVID-19 to ensure strict supervision and keen monitoring of the distribution process.
“I need to put on notice that the Palliative Committee at all levels will be held accountable for any anomaly in the distribution of the palliatives,” he warned
The food items donated by CA-COVID are: 43,346 cartons of noodles, 21,000 bags of rice 18 bags of semolina, 600 gallons of vegetable oil, 18,000 bags of salt, 20,590 cartons of macaroni and 240,000 cartons of sugar.
