The Director-General, Industrial Training Fund, ITF, Sir Joseph Ari has said that the fund will expand skills acquisition, youths empowerment as well as strengthening of MSMEs through need based trainings.
Ari, who was recently reappointed for a second tenure noted that in the next four years, ITF would fully implement the 2nd Phase of its Reviewed Vision, which was unveiled recently, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and to reposition the ITF to effectively deliver on its mandate for national growth and development.

The DG who expressed appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari for reappointing him stated that he views his reappointment, which takes effect from 26th September,2020 as a validation of his efforts during his first tenure and an opportunity for him to consolidate on his achievements and pledged to work assiduously to ensure the achievement of the Federal Government’s policy agenda especially with regard to job and wealth creation.
According to a statement issued in Jos by Suleyol Chagu who is the ITF Head, Public Affairs Unit, “The Director-General/CE of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Sir Joseph Ari has expressed appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, for reappointing him for a second term of office as Director-General/Chief Executive of the Industrial Training Fund.

“The DG ITF said that he views his reappointment, which takes effect from 26th September,2020 as a validation of his efforts during his first tenure and an opportunity for him to consolidate on his achievements and pledged to work assiduously to ensure the achievement of the Federal Government’s policy agenda especially with regard to job and wealth creation.
“Sir Ari said that in the next four years, the ITF would expand and deepen its activities especially with regard to skill acquisition and empowerment of the youths and indigent segments of the society as well as strengthen the MSMEs sector through need based training in view of the vital importance of the sector to national growth and development.
He said the ITF would fully implement the 2nd phase of its Reviewed Vision, which was unveiled recently, in response to the Covid-19 pandemic and to reposition the ITF to effectively deliver on its mandate.”
It would be recalled that Sir Ari was first appointed into the position on 26th September, 2016. Through the ITF Reviewed Vision: Strategies for Mandate Actualisation, which he unveiled on assumption, the Fund under him has among other achievements trained over 500,000 Nigerians, who are today earning sustainable livelihoods as paid employees, or as entrepreneurs that are employing others.

However, the Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong has described Ari’s reapportionment as another good omen for ITF and Plateau State giving the track record of achievements of Sir Ari in the last four years.
Lalong in a statement by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Makut Macham said “I am not surprised by the reappointment of Sir Joseph Ari by Mr. President for another term because in the last four years, he has rebranded and refocused the organisation by making it a front-line skill development and job creation machinery that has empowered millions of Nigerians. This has given hope to many youths and reduced the fruitless hunt for non-existing white collar jobs, thereby reducing crime in the society.”
