The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed officers from the Eagle Crack Squad, a security outfit in Rivers state police command, who tortured Chima Ikwunador to death in December 2019.
The officers were also tried for unlawfully inflicting various degrees of injuries on four other persons.
Orderly Room Trials and report reveals that the officers after torturing Late Chima Ikwunado to death, also inflicted injuries on Ifeanyi Onyekwere, Ogbonna Victor, Ifeanyi Osuji and Osaze Friday.
The Orderly Room Trial recommended the dismissal of the officers.

Meanwhile, the Rivers State Police Command in a statement by her Public Relations Officer, Nnamdi Omoni, says that the dismissed officers will be charged to Court on Tuesday for conspiracy and murder, among other charges.
“The officers who had gone through the processes of Orderly Room Trials were today (Monday) de-kitted and dismissed from the Force, hence their arraignment.”
Recall that the Commissioner of Police in Rivers state, Joseph Mukan while briefing newsmen upon his assumption of duty in the State, promised to address all cases of infractions and unprofessional conduct of the officers and men of the command, and to offer quality Policing Services to the State.

The statement from the command stressed that the dismissal of the officers was an eloquent demonstration of the CP’s transparency and avowed commitment to entrench discipline in the command, while appealing to the public to remain steadfast and continue to have faith in the Police by assisting with useful information that will enhance their job.
