Ondo state governor, Mr Arakunrin Akeredolu has advised residents of the state who have bought fairly used fabrics and shoes at Oja Oba market in Akure recently to report to hospital for testing immediately.

Akeredolu made the call on Monday following the arrest of a female trader who absconded from isolation centre in Imo state and sneaked into Ondo state.

The trader was arrested at Oja-Oba market, Akure South, selling used fabrics and shoes, better known as “Okrika”.

The said trader had tested positive of Coronavirus and was admitted at the Imo state isolation centre but she absconded from the centre.

Akeredolu advised the affected people to call the government toll-free numbers so as to get immediate help.

He said Ondo state has had 19 active cases in the last 12 days, as against the 24 cases announced as at 27th May.

Akeredolu disclosed that the additional 19 new cases add up to make a total of 43 cases as at of Monday, June 8.
