National lawmaker calls for rescue of aid workers abducted by Boko Haram

A Plateau-born aid worker, Jennifer Ukambong Samuel, abducted by Boko Haram in Maiduguri, Borno State on December 22, 2019 has regained her freedom, her mother, Mrs. Naomi Samuel confirmed.

Jennifer was said to have been freed along with four others by government security agents on Wednesday and she has since called home to confirm her release.

Her mother, who was filled with joy said on phone, “I am very happy, I am grateful to God and everybody who helped. I was in Church and had to put off my phone but Jennifer has called and spoken with her elder sister that she has been released. I’m so grateful to God. Thank you everyone.”

At the time of contacting Mrs. Samuel on phone, songs of praises to God were heard on the background as well wishers throng their family house near TCNN area in Jos South local government area of Plateau State, singing and praising God.
