Imo state south east Nigeria is in the news again for the wrong reason as the people of Abacheke in Ohaji Egbema LGA witness an unimaginable tragic incident where over one hundred person loss their lives due to illegal oil numbering site explosion.
When visited the scene people at the site of the incidents could not ascertain what cost the explosion as no single person survived the unfortunate incident.
Worried about the death toll Chief Collins Ajie a leader in the community express bitterness, he alleged that top government officials and security agency are involved in the business, adding that over thirty checking point collect money from these bunkers and allow unhindered access.

He called on the federal federal government to come to their aid to avert further reoccurrence of these ugly incidents.
The relatives of some of diseased lamented hardship, unemployment as the major reason why they engage themselves in the illegal business.

Responding swiftly to the development in a phone conversation with the our correspondent the commissioner for petroleum In the state Mr Goodluck Ohpia regret the sad incident, he said the anti bunkering committee he form to checkmate the illegal activities have compromised and so far they have been disbanded.
“We are now working with the Army to see how the situation can be curtailed but the activities seems to be on the rise”, he said.
